Callings

Richard got a new calling yesterday. He will no longer be in the district council, now he is the first counselor in the branch presidency. I am glad he doesn't have to go to all the district meetings anymore but I know he will still be busy here in Monahans. Always a new adventure just around the corner.

basketball

Nolan played his championship basketball game today and Richard and I went to watch it. He did very good.He made one basket but it didn't count because he was traveling. He was so cute out there playing his hardest.

Quality Time

William likes his time with dad when he is home. To bad this weekend Richard came home with pink eye and now William has it because dad love to hold the baby boy.

Swim Meet

Nolan had his first swimming meet tonight. He is really improving. I can't wait till his next meet. This one was just a practice one so they were just getting the experience.

sitting up

William is working on sitting up. We spent some time practicing today. It is kind of hard to take pictures while I am helping him, but I did my best.

Valentine

The boys all had there Valentine parties on Friday. They all had a good time except poor Nolan didn't get to go. He had pink eye and couldn't go to school. He was really bummed. We spent part of Saturday dipping strawberries and had fun doing that. I always love holidays.

Yum Yum

William is now eating baby food. He is such a monster, I need a few more hands in order to keep him from making to big of a mess. It takes Richard and me feeding him and now I don't know what I am going to do now that Richard went back to work. I guess that is why I have all these boys.

We decided that we need to visit with the Barmore family. We didn't get to see them at Christmas time and we all still had Christmas presents. On Saturday night Richard and his siblings decided to play guitar hero. It was a lot of fun. I liked watching better than playing. I am not any good at video games. We had a lot of fun.

William has found his toes. He really likes to eat them, but that is not really a big surprise, he likes to eat everything he can get his hands on including his hands.

Friday

William Even enjoyed the stockshow.

IT'S OVER

Well we had a long week and it is now over. The boys all did very well. Nolan somehow ended up with a lot more than Riley and Caleb. Dutcher-Phipps didn't get to buy his lamb. It was purchased by First National Bank. It's funny but I am already looking forward to next year. The boys enjoy it so much and I loved watching them get better every day. We went from Caleb being scared to him being able to go in the pen and catch the sheep by himself. Nolan (fearless) was drug all over the pens trying to catch them. Then he was able to catch them with no problem. Riley worked so hard and was so good to help his brothers.

The boys all did so good Thursday night. I do believe I was the proudest mom in the building. Riley got a 1st, two 2nds, a 4th and reserve breed champion with the first place dorper. Nolan got two 1sts, a 2nd and breed champion with his first place dorper. Caleb got two 3rds and a 4th. They really did a great job and I am glad it is over. That was a lot of work.

Wednesday, February 4, 2009

Well we got through our first show, pigs. The boys all did well, Nolan got a reserved champion in his breed. Riley and Nolan both got called back for showmanship. They did very good showing. I was impressed. Caleb was very concentrated on his pig, nothing else. I think as he gets older he will do better. Evan got to go on a field trip today. I don't think he likes the pigs much because he told his class about the sheep but not the pigs. We have the lamb show on Thursday and then the sell on Friday and then we are done till next year!!

STOCKSHOW

Well Stockshow has begun. We took our animals upto the barns on Saturday. Richard was home for the weekend so we wanted to get as much done as possible while he was here. We got all 10 sheep sheared and both the pigs sheared. Dad came up for a few minutes to help us get going on it. It was a long day. This picture of William is us going to get lunch for everyone.
On Sunday we had to go get the animals fed before church so we got ready for church and tried our hardest not to get dirty. We did pretty good but dirt really likes Nolan and Caleb.
